H. Orton Wiley

H. Orton Wiley was a pastor in the Church of the Nazarene at the denomination's founding. He served as president of Pasadana college and Northwest Nazarene College, as editor of the Herald of Holiness and on the General Board and Board of Education. He was married and father to Lester, H. Ward, Pearl, and Ruth.

He outlines four ideals for educating students: The first ideal is, that the student shall obtain a proper perspective of life. A second ideal is, that we shall make the Nazarene University a tarrying place. The third principle which we shall emphasize is expressiveness.  The Fourth Ideal is that of Heroic Service.
